Beautify the Campbelltown Roundabout!

UPDATE 5/4/2020
We've broken ground! The plants are waiting to be put in the earth, but first we have some soil to till. After going through one rototiller, we've resorted to doing it by hand. We are still looking for volunteers for digging, planting, mulching, and ongoing maintenance. Please contact us on facebook (link below) to lend a hand!

The Campelltown Community Alliance (CCA) is a group of neighbors working together to revitalize Campbelltown, PA through connectivity, safety and beauty.
PennDOT has approved CCA's next beautification project: the roundabout at Route 117 and Northside Drive.
Good Roundabout Landscaping (Source):
> Makes the central island more conspicuous
> Improves the aesthetics of the area
> Minimizes hazards, such as trees, poles, and rocks
> Avoids obscuring roundabout signing
> Maintains adequate sight distances
> Indicates to not pass straight through the intersection
Our plan for the roundabout is shown below. For the first phase of the project, plants will include:
· 17 Little bluestem
· 16 Woods blue aster
· 18 Coreopsis “Zagreb”
· 28 Grassland sedge c. divulsa
What can I do to help?
The simplest way would be to donate a few dollars to the cause. Any donation will help make an impact. We are raising money to pay for landscaping materials and basic maintenance costs.
For those of you with green thumbs (and even those without), we are also looking for volunteers on the day of the planting. Contact us on facebook to volunteer.
Thank you,
Andrew G., CCA member
