Given the expansive nature of Playworks vision, Playworks Maryland engages other like-minded organizations to contribute toward our goals over the coming years. Our play partners align with our mission and values and are ready to jump in to help achieve safe and healthy play. This year, AmeriCorp member Katie Ross a.k.a. Coach KT of Windsor Hills Elementary Middle School (WHEMS) is supporting the artistic vision and creative community efforts of Art with a Heart for her beautification of our play space!
Playworks AmeriCorps coaches are true champions for service and make an impact each and every day. For more than two decades, Playworks AmeriCorps coaches have helped further Playworks mission to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play. Each year AmeriCorps members, partake in a community engagement project. This year Katie is working with Art with a Heart to beautify WHEMS playground.
Art with a Heart works along side middle schools in WHEMS to provide hands-on visual arts experiences that educate and inspire at-risk children.
This fundraiser is to support Katie's mission in creating an environment in which all kids can thrive. Playspace transformations allow volunteers to create dramatic visual and practical changes for Playworks Maryland schools through activities such as playground overhaul and beautification, mural paintings, and indoor playspace refurbishments.
