Erik Williams Fundraiser

Erik Williams is currently facing some major medical challenges. Here is a quote in Erik’s own words of his situation.
“After suffering serious upper back pain for about 5 months along with losing about 20 pounds, I went to the emergency room on Sunday, Oct 22nd. I was losing feeling in my legs, and by the time they had a CT scan and MRI done, I was paralyzed from the lower chest to my feet. The scans showed masses in my spine, so I was taken to UPMC Presby for emergency surgery. They removed two cancerous masses from my spine along with some bone to relieve pressure on my spinal cord. It is melanoma that has spread to various places in my body. I went through spinal rehab to try to relearn how to stand, walk, etc on my own. There is no timeline for rehab or cancer treatment as it will depend on how I do and how my body reacts. I will not be able to work for a while. I have a long road ahead and have no idea how this will affect my job and life, I only know that I will get through it. Thank you for the positive messages. Take care of yourselves and take nothing for granted“
During his time in rehab, Erik was awarded “rockstar of the week” by the Mercy PT staff and congratulated by former Pittsburgh Steeler Ryan Shazier, who also suffered a spinal cord injury. Erik is home now and continues his rehab to relearn to stand and walk and chemo but is unable to work. Erik is so positive about his recovery, but certainly can use the generosity of others. Please donate to help Erik through this time. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
