Bebot Community Kitchen To Serve The Community
Bebot Community Kitchen is here to serve the people
Filipinos are great at feeding people. And in these times, that is no exception.
ABOUT: With the hard times that have fallen many of our underserved and at-risk communities, we've decided to step up and shift our priorities to our neighbors and those in need. Working with local organizers we've seen requests for food assistance TRIPLE in the past few weeks and what started out as a small project out of our own pockets has grown to something that could use your help.
What we're doing:
Since March, we have been donated over 250 hot meals to migrant families, healthcare workers, and people suffering from homelessness in the Long Beach area all the while keeping our doors open for our customers to order take-out and delivery. Up until recently, these efforts came out of our own pockets, giving what we could. After a call-out to our social media following, many generous people have contributed to offset the out-of-pocket costs so far.
But as our Bebot Community Kitchen progresses and grows, we have already seen the requests for assistance TRIPLE in just a few weeks. And I honestly expect the need to grow.
How you can help:
Bebot Community Kitchen is committed to serving the people as much as possible but with a 75% drop in sales for the restaurant itself since March, we've realized that it will take some help from our community at large to continue our project.
What we're asking for:
We are asking for $11000 to serve 2000 meals in the next month.
(Roughly $22.00 for a family; $5.50/meal)
And whether or not we meet that goal, we will continue to give as much as we can. Conversely, every dollar donated over our goal we raise will sustain and prolong our efforts in our community.
What Your Donation Pays For
Any contribution you make to Bebot Community Kitchen will extend the project's sustainability: pay for food costs, provide meaningful work for our staff, help coordinate the donation efforts, and help keep the lights on at Bebot Filipino Soul Food.
Who Is Making This Happen
My name is AC Boral, the chef and owner of Bebot Filipino Soul Food. Our restaurant staff and I are in coordinate and prepare the food to be distributed.
Currently, we are working with Filipino Migrant Center and Bayanihan Community Response for Carson and Long Beach to provide meals to migrant families and other communities requesting food assistance on a weekly basis.

How Long Will Bebot Community Kitchen Go For
Our hope is that Bebot Community Kitchen project will go on as long as possible! Even after quarantine is lifted and things start to normalize.
