Lucia's Scholarship for College

Greetings from Peru! I am Laura and I wouId like to introduce you to Lucia. I met Lucia in 2010 when she was a young girl living in a shelter in the Andean town of Pampamarca, Cusco, that hosts girls who have been part of abusive families or have a history of abuse. Since the moment I met her, I knew I wanted to help Lucia achieve her goals and dreams. She is smart, responsible and dedicated but has no support to fulfill her dreams.
Lucia loves new languages and new cultures. She speaks Spanish and Quechua and would love to become a medical interpreter, but there are no scholarships for that career in Peru. This is where you all can help her! We are setting up a fund for her studies. She needs to attend classes before applying for the university (to compensate the lack of quality of the education she received at the shelter) and then she will attend college for 5 years. All the money raised would go to pay for the pre (the classes before college), for tuition (once she gets in) and for her expenses (food, transportation, books, etc).
This is a picture of Hannah, Lucia and me in Cusco. Hannah and I would love to see Lucia achieving her dream of becoming an interpreter. We strongly believe that when we change the life of a girl, we are making the world a better place. Please help us to do that. Support Lucia and remember it takes a village to raise a child and you can be part of hers. She will make you just as proud as her achievements and efforts have made us.
Thank you!!!
