Becca's Journey with Aplastic Anemia
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Becca and I am reaching out to you for your support and generosity. I have recently been diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare and serious condition that occurs when the bone marrow stops producing enough new blood cells.
Doctors think I have a good chance of success with a bone marrow transplant, which is a procedure that involves replacing my damaged bone marrow with healthy stem cells from a donor. This will help my body produce new blood cells and fight the disease. However, before the transplant, I will need to receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy as part of pretreatment. These treatments will destroy any remaining diseased cells in my bone marrow, but they will also cause many side effects and risks.
Unfortunately, some of the costs associated with my treatment and recovery are not covered by my insurance. This is why I am asking for your help to cover the following expenses:
• Unexpected bills & expenses
• Egg freezing: This is a process in which a woman’s eggs are extracted, frozen, and stored for future use. This will allow me to preserve my fertility and have the option of having children later in life, as chemotherapy and radiation therapy can damage the ovaries and affect the ability to conceive.
• Cold capping: This is a way of reducing or preventing hair loss from chemotherapy by cooling the scalp during treatment. This will help me maintain my self-esteem and confidence, as hair loss can be a distressing and emotional side effect of treatment.
I know this is a lot to ask, but I am hoping that you can help me in any way you can. No donation is too small, and every dollar counts. Your generosity and kindness will make a huge difference in my life and will help me overcome this challenging situation.
If you are unable to donate, I would still appreciate receiving any kind words of support or encouragement to help lift my spirits. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I go through this difficult journey. I believe that with your help and God’s grace, I will be able to beat this disease and live a healthy and happy life.
