Beckham Willett’s Medical Journey

On Monday, April 29th, Stacy woke to find 7-month-old Beckham lethargic and not moving his arms or legs. Within a few minutes of waking, Beck had his first witnessed seizure. Stacy called 911 and while in the ambulance, he had 6 more seizures on the way to the hospital. Jupiter Medical Center quickly made the decision to trauma hawk him to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami where he was admitted to the ICU. Within the first 24 hours, Beck had over 100 seizures. MRI showed that he had a stroke and his Basal Ganglia (the center most part of the brain) is not getting the oxygen and fuel it needs. Stacy and Pat are waiting for genetic testing results to come back to confirm a diagnosis.

Beck is currently on day 5 of his PICU stay at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.

Beckham’s first hospital stay alone will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. His trauma hawk ride alone was a $30,000 trip (not covered by insurance even though it quite literally saved his life). His interventions will be even more. Stacy was out of work on maternity leave and will not be able to go back as Beck will need round the clock care.

This is where we come in. This is when we need our family, friends, friends of friends, neighbors, coworkers, prayer warriors, and community to come together to help support them through the worst, most unimaginable situation a parent could ever imagine.
