Becky and Her Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Donation protected
We all have that friend who can walk into any room and instantly break the ice and make conversations run so smoothly – that’s Becky. Her ability to find connections with people and build relationships is admirable. She really is a social butterfly. Someone we can always count on to hear us out on good and bad days. Someone who can make us laugh at any given time. Someone who encourages us to never settle and keep pushing through.

For anyone who knows Becky knows she doesn’t back down without a fight, and this is no exception. Cancer. That six-letter word that no one wants to hear, unfortunately, became a reality for Becky and her family. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on August 30, 2022. She has been in and out of appointments since early August, when she found a mass alongside her neck and chest area. Since then, she has undergone numerous surgeries, some of which include the biopsy itself, the preservation of her eggs for fertilization, and the installation of her port to receive chemotherapy. Becky started chemo on October 17, 2022. She will have to be in chemo for the next 6 months. During this time, she will receive aggressive treatment to help put her in remission. Because Hodgkin’s Lymphoma affects her immune system, she is unable to work or be around people. She cannot risk getting an infection that could be potentially fatal.

I cannot imagine the unexpected costs that will arise as a result of the care she needs now and in the future. Without being able to work, her income is limited, and bills continue to pile up. To help alleviate some of the financial burdens, all proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Becky directly so that she can cover the costs of housing, utilities, medications, and medical bills.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it is that we are not meant to do this life alone. As a community, we encourage and celebrate one another in our highest moments, but we also show up and support one another in those moments we are at our lowest. Becky’s family and I humbly ask you to join us in helping support Becky’s journey toward recovery. No donation is too small, and I thank you in advance for anything you can give, including prayers or a simple share of this post.
