Becky Got a New [Used] Car!

Hello, friends and family!

The time has come to replace my current car, a 2001 Honda Civic. He limps along on short, simple drives, but is unlikely to make another long trip home without larger issues arising. I decided to invest a bit more in a newer (used) car with lower mileage and a clean title in hopes of owning it for 10+ years. Unfortunately, quality used cars are a bit more expensive, and I'm still a couple years out of college, providing me with low income. I avoid taking out loans at all costs, which means I've paid for this car out of pocket. This means I've exhausted my savings and made quite the dent in my checking account. That's my choice, but I prefer not to carry the burden of an additional loan on top of student loans.

I thought it wouldn't hurt to share the need to friends and family. There are greater things to donate your hard-earned money to, so by all means do not feel pressured to contribute here. If you do, however, feel led to contribute, anything helps. I'm replenishing from each paycheck, but I have a long way to go.

I officially purchased the beautiful car (YAY!), but the missing money does hurt, of course. Anything donated here will be specially set aside to replenish my car purchase, and I will be deeply grateful. Anything contributed toward this car will mean all the more to me because of the help received. And I'll make sure you hear about it!

Again, there is no pressure to donate, for others need more than me. But I'm also learning to ask for help when I need it, so I'm doing so here. Whatever you provide (even prayer!) will take a bit of the weight off my shoulders.

Until I sell my old Honda Civic, may he rest in peace, knowing the great 4 years he carried me along as my first car. I will miss him dearly.
