Becky Conery’s “You Can Do It!” Memorial Fund

In the spirit in which she lived, Becky Conery’s family and the City of North Canton, Ohio are planning to honor her dedication to children of all abilities with an all-inclusive, adaptive playground. This fundraiser has been created to further that plan.

Becky passed away in the fall of 2020 at the age of 65 after fighting a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. She worked for 20 years as a pediatric nurse before going back to school to earn a degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She then spent 25 years working in the schools with children of varying abilities.  She believed in never giving up and the ‘You CanDo It’ statement even as she struggled with walking, talking and basic movements when the cancer took away her strength.  She used that same drive to help children of all abilities reach their daily living goals, applauding their efforts with encouragement and devotion.

Our home town of North Canton, Ohio is planning to construct a fully inclusive, accessible playground that brings together families and caregivers with children of all abilities and developmental stages to play in the same place. Interacting, socializing and learning together through play. Our city's mechanism for funding these types of capital improvements is through a combination of grants and donations.  We are humbly setting a goal of $10,000 to place just some of the needed equipment to honor Becky and extend her legacy of helping children for years to come.
