Bed Bugs at Echoing Hills Village

Echoing Hills Village is a Chrisitan ministry located in Madina, Accra, Ghana, West Africa that works with persons with disabilities and vulnerable children. Please take the time watch this video it explains just what Echoing Hills Village is all about. Their services are important and needed in this community. The stigma against disabilities is still so prevelant in Ghana making funding from the community difficult. Most of the 80 residents are brought to Echoing Hills Village by the police department or social welfare after taken from situations of abandonment, abuse, or trafficing. This ministry shows them the love of Jesus while teaching them skills and providing for their daily needs.

But they need our help! We all know someone who has had bed bugs in their house, and we all know how awful and stubborn they are! Echoing Hills has been fighting the battle with bed bugs for three years. Each month or more they have to take all of the beds apart and spray them with chemicals to kill the bugs and air out all the residents' clothes. Still the bugs do not go away. The money and time they spend doing this every month takes away from paying for more of their residents to go to school or keeping their facilities in good shape. The residents here deserve better than sleeping with bed bugs every night and carrying them around on their clothes. I am asking you to help me raising money so Echoing Hills Village can finally get rid of bed bugs! The costs include two extermination treatments for around $900, transportation to keep the residents out of the buildings during the extermination for around $500, new bed sheets for around $500, and all new clothes for 85 residents at around $100 per resident comes to a grand total of just over $10,000. Getting rid of bed bugs only scraps the surface of what Echoing Hills Village here in Ghana needs, but this would keep them on their feet.
