Bee's Endometriosis Surgery in Atlanta (Nov. 11)

Bee, a passionate community builder, positive advocate, and light to everyone in her life, needs your help funding her Nov. 11 surgery to relieve her stage IV endometriosis. Between being a full-time student, having a full-time job, and dealing with full-time chronic pain, Bee is facing additional financial stress for her out-of-pocket surgery costs and hotel fees. ABOUT THE SURGERY:

Bee was diagnosed with endometriosis close to her 17th birthday. She has dealt with chronic pain since her first symptoms at 12 years old, has been on round after round of experimental drug treatments with extreme side effects, and has already had four surgeries to address her endometriosis. Finding a specialist who is able to identify her unique brand of endometriosis and surgically remove it is incredibly difficult; this next surgery is with one of the world’s leading experts. This doctor worked with her previously and was able to provide answers to her persistent pain despite treatment: atypical presentation of the endometrium. The purpose of any endometrial resection surgery is to remove all the endometrium to prevent regrowth and recurrence of pain. We are lucky she has the opportunity to see this specialist again because this surgery will provide long-lasting pain relief and a return to a normal quality of life. Donations will go directly to cover the out-of-pocket costs and related travel expenses.

The doctor is giving Bee a considerable discount on the surgery, leaving the remaining out-of-pocket cost to be $4,500. Her flight costs will be generously covered, leaving hotel fees and other travel expenses.

If any excess money is raised, it will cover previous medical debt and then go to the Endometriosis Foundation of America.
