Carl Beech has Young Onset Parkinson’s. It’s dramatically affected his voice and his mobility amongst a whole bunch of other problems. One night whilst alone eating a double decker and watching apocalypse now he had a eureka moment and discovered a tapping technique that allowed him to speak. That night he also had a vision for a simple and cheap device so that he wouldn’t have to tap himself.
His friend Nick (who Carl thinks is actually a real Iron Man inventor) knocked a prototype type up at home that weekend in his dining room and posted it to him.
To their amazement it worked.
Since then and 4 prototypes later, people are reporting that the tapping and/or the device has done staggering things. They are videoing themselves talking properly again, overcoming motor tics, easing anxiety, reducing dyskinesia, dystonia and more.
Nick and Carl want to put people before profit. They want to produce a low cost device that is accessible to all. Not dependant on fiddly apps and controls (that people struggle with when they have tremors or lost fine motor control). That’s not dependant on WiFi or Bluetooth and smart technology that excludes people in hardship or are digitally excluded. They had a vision for something simple to operate and easy to wear. They are aiming to supply a product for around £15.00.
They have a long way to go to produce this calming “wellness” device and they face a lot of costs.
Please help us by funding the development and production of first 1000 refined devices.
Thank you so much.
