Who We Are

Hello from Savannah!

We are the 12 students of Savannah College of Art and Design's (SCAD) Business Design and Arts Leadership (BDAL) Department's Event Planning class.

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the second annual Bee Market. This public event will take place from 4pm - 8pm on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at Arnold Hall, 1810 Bull Street. The Bee Market will feature a wide range of purchasable art by SCAD community artists, refreshments, music, and a variety of artistic demonstrations.

Why This is Important

Our mission:

"Through production of the Bee Market, we strive to provide Savannah access to the innovative work of the SCAD community and create a learning platform for aspiring SCAD artists."

Not only are we excited about the quality and diversity of SCAD art, but we're passionate about the educational opportunities we can provide through this event. Artists who successfully complete the application process will gain sales and networking exposure--and who couldn't use more of that? It's good for us, the artists, and the city. We'll break it down for you:

1. Artists get to sell their work to the Savannah public, gaining indispensable professional sales experience.

2. Savannah gets access to AMAZING and diverse works of art.

3. Our class gets vital administrative and networking exposure.

It's a win-win-win!

SCAD is all about exposing students to innovation in their careers. We not only want to grow our event from last year, but we also want to focus on creating an educational sales environment for our participating artists which allows them to exhibit their skills. With your support, we'll make this a Bee Market to remember.

What we need

We need to raise $1,200 by May 18, 2016. Without your help it will be impossible to host this event for the SCAD and Savannah communities.

Funding will help cover the following:

1. Cost of amenities such as tables, chairs, plates, linens, etc.

2. Decor

3. Staff and volunteer uniforms

4. Audio visual effects

5. Refreshments for participants, volunteers, and Bee Market patrons.

Our team is unable to complete its mission without significant contribution from the community, so monetary support garnered from you is essential in creating this one-of-a-kind event.

We will be extending our campaign for contributed income through various channels, including corporate sponsorship and doughnut sales. Any additional income generated through our fundraising efforts will be retained by the BDAL department as a starting contribution for next year's event planning students.
