Behind closed doors open a safe unit of support.
Donation protected
Hello everyone
Behind closed doors was set up a year and half ago by a fellow survivor. We are based in Fleetwood, but cover Lancashire.
The reason behind this, was although there is professional support out there for victims of domestic abuse, which we strongly advise you seek should anyone be experiencing abuse.
We felt speaking to, seeking support from someone who has lived that experience and gained qualifications in this sector and come out the other side, someone who understands, who is non judgmental and supportive, will encourage those to reach out and make that 1st step which can be very daunting.
We have become established very quickly and have received fantastic feedback from our group members.
Our group has 4 ladies that run behind closed doors, covering different areas of abuse.
Behind closed doors - What we do
-Online, 1-1 and group support.
-Drop in sessions
-Confidence building workshops
-Well-being walks and talks
-Challenging thoughts and mindset program.
-Understanding domestic abuse, the cycle and impact.
-Educational talks in the community
-Signposting/referrals
-Fundraising
As we are not a registered charity and not funded, we solely rely on the communities donations to support the women who reach out to us.
Our aim is to have a hub/unit/shop within the local area, we can call are own. A safe space for the ladies to drop in whenever they want for a chat, support, referrals, help with documents etc.
What better way to fundraise than to jump out of a plane ♀️ In October, as it’s Domestic violence awareness month.
The team and members would be truly grateful of any sponsors or donations to this sky dive therefore please do share far and wide.
The effects of domestic violence can last a life time! Continuous support is needed.
Can you help?
Let’s give these ladies a safe hub.
Thank you for reading
