Behnke Family Barn Fund
Donation protected
Many friends, neighbors, Holstein Breeders and fellow dairy enthusiasts are wondering how to help the Behnke family - here is your opportunity.
The Behnke family, of Brooklyn, WI experienced every farmer's nightmare on the night of September 18th. A barn fire completely destroyed their dairy barn and claimed the lives of nearly half of the milking herd at Bur-Wall Holsteins. The cows that were lucky enough to call Bur-Wall home were known by name and each had a unique story behind them. The Behnkes have been proud to share their herd and history with visitors from across the US and around the world as fellow dairyman would visit their farm during World Dairy Expo time.
The Behnke family are some of the hardest working and most passionate dairy farmers around. Bur-Wall Holsteins have been farming for 56 years, they have milked 60 head of elite registered Holsteins in a tie stall barn. The family has a long history of volunteering and being great community members. They have been active in and continue to support World Dairy Expo, 4-H, FFA, and have hosted many judging teams at their farm over the years.
Parents, Wally and Donna Behnke continue to help their son Robert who is currently running the farm. Their other children include, Roger (Lisa) Behnke, Brian (Tami) Behnke, Brenda (Alan) Murphy and the late Keri Evert.
Donations can be made out to the Behnke Family and mailed to UB&T P.O Box 15 Evansville, WI 53536. Donations may be dropped off at any UB&T location or processed through their (Behnke's) GoFundMe page.
Thank you to all the surrounding fire departements, and especially our Brooklyn Fire, EMS and Police department. Our community is blessed to have such compassionate and caring group of volunteers.
