Being a Support for Brett and his Family

Donation protected

Brett Rehard is a man who undoubtedly loves his family. And in turn his son Colton loves his daddy. This past week has opened all of our eyes to how quickly things really can turn for the worse. Things we were scared of happening sometimes turn into reality and seldom are we ever ready for it.

Colton returned from Summer camp last week on July 16th and even though he had some great memories, he hated being away from his dad and his mom, Anna. That same day Brett was admitted to Kootenai Medical Center. His liver had failed.

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." -Galatians 6:2

Brett was diagnosed with severe liver cirrhosis, kidney failure, and encephalopathy.

Liver Cirrhosis - Cirrhosis is a late-stage liver disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue and the liver is permanently damaged. Scar tissue keeps your liver from working properly.

Kidney Failure - A condition in which the kidneys lose the ability to remove waste and balance fluids.

Encephalopathy - A broad term for any brain disease that alters brain function or structure.

Thank God Anna has been so supportive and knowledgeable through all of this. She has spent every day next to him. Tending to him diligently. I continue to pray for her patience and that God opens her ears and mind so that she can make the decisions for her family. A position I would never wish on anyone. Give her strength and hope.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." - Psalm 46:1-3

So many people have been praying non stop for Brett and his family. The power of prayer is real, and the doctors have been working hard. His levels are improving. He has been off and on the ventilator but he is awake.

Anna posted today (July 19) "Brett is beyond thankful for all the prayers. He is crying tears of joy, knowing how many prayer circles he has going for him. He cant physically speak right now, but wants me to thank each and every one of you."

Focusing on getting him healthy is first priority. But the downside is the medical bills that come along with it. The final cost is unknown but everyday that bill increases. A happy expense as he gets closer and closer to recovery, but an expense nevertheless.

I ask that we come together for Brett, Colton, and Anna. Emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Let's take care of them like they have us. God is good and miracles do happen.

Thank you!
