Beirut Schools Playgrounds Design Project
Donation protected
Young Students prepare to gradually come back to school after months of online studies due to Covid 19 restrictions. Students in Mar Mkhayel, Gemmayze, and other parts of Beirut will have to go back to schools damaged by the explosion that hit the city on August 4, 2020.
As a response to the catastrophic event that shook Beirut, a group of architects and designers are trying to create a new safe space for children to play.
We believe that kids playing is the purest form of resilience. They propose through play the most creative, rebellious and therapeutic approaches to deal with trauma. They have the ability to transform everything into a toy. They play everywhere but appreciate the additions, the colors, the tools that may be added
44 schools were damaged. Each has several playgrounds. We will start with one playground in three schools.
We plan to transform the school playgrounds in the affected area into a place of adventure, newness and play .
A new scene, for a new start.
