Beit Maroun

Donation protected
Congratulations an amazing moment in history,  on behalf of our charity QMHR and everyone in Australia who has contributed so far, we have finally secured a land for Beit Maroun, officially in their name.

The land in the region of Deir El Ahmar approximately 15 min from Majdaloun.

QMHR will be raising funds to pay off for the remainder of the land for the new order of “Beit Maroun” and to assist in the construction of the following;

1. Beit Maroun church
2. Monastery
3. Monks hermitages
4. Retreat centre for youth and families.
5. Spiritual healing centre (Addictions, drugs and etc)

This is not for the priests alone, but for the community in order to build the kingdom of God, in the heart of the people.

The priest’s main focus is not to gain financial support but is to serve in the house built by the community.

Who is Beit Maroun ?

Five Maronite Priests; Fr Elias Maroun Gharios, Fr Tanios Ghossein, Fr Pierre Matar, Fr Jean Ayoub and Fr Maroun Sassine share the same passion and love for our Lord Jesus Christ, preaching the word of God and serving His children.  These Priests have chosen to follow a more traditional path in serving the Lord.

The religious life of priests is the heart of the church. When the heart is pure, then the church is pure!

These Priests have dedicated their lives through prayer and fasting so that the church may be united as one.  Jesus said in John 17:22, “And the glory that you have given to me, I have given to them, so that they may be one, just as we also are one.”

The original Beit Maroun was a home for the whole community. The lay people would imitate the monk’s way of life; their prayers, fasting, meditation on the word of God, and love for Our Lady.

These Priests are currently working towards adopting the same traditions.

Beit Maroun will be built by the community, for the community. A place where the joyous, tired, hurt and addicted come to be nourished by the word of God and enhance their spiritual life.

Beit Maroun aims to go back to the traditions of old (Disciples of St Maroun), where the monk’s spiritual life was heavily weighted on their constant fasting, prayer, adoration and meditating on the word of Christ and venerating the Virgin Mary - Cedar of Lebanon.

Their Charism is to preach the word of God to people of all faiths (Christian and Non-Christians) not only by words, but also through their actions and strengthening the family which is under constant attack.

Their aim is to support the following areas:

• All youth, especially those suffering addictions, anxiety, depression and who are away from the faith • Supporting the poor • Taking care of the elderly

All support will be provided at no cost; “You have received freely, so give freely” Matthew 10:8

Once established, the Beit Maroun Priests will follow a routine. They will live in the monastery for four days that will consist of a deep meditation, fasting, prayer and three days will be focused on preaching the word of Christ.

May we always be united in Christ +
