Be Kind Online - Arizona to Japan
Tax deductible
My students from Changemaker High School will travel to Japan June 7-18 as part of a student cultural exchange program designed to prevent cyberbullying. The students will attend the Kyoto and Osaka Smartphone Summits and will share their “Be Kind Online” project. Their project is designed to practice cyberkindess during a time of significant rise in teenage cyberbullying.
In preparation for their trip, students are meeting weekly with two UA students that are guiding them with project planning and implementation skills while teaching them introductory Japanese language, culture, and customs. Students are also working on fundraising to cover the costs associated with their trip.
This project is partially funded by a federal award grant from the U.S. Department of State. The partners and sponsors include Changemaker High School, Ben’s Bells, University of Arizona College of Education, Osaka Kyoiku University and the Institute for Social Media Research.
Your donations will help cover ground transportation, meals, and lodging while students are visiting Japan.
