Believe in Christmas 2024

This Christmas, will you be the reason a child believes in a brighter future? The Hive is Wirral's youth zone, a safe, warm sanctuary where children can dare to dream. This Christmas, many of our families are facing a very harsh winter, with parents despairing that they can't afford presents for their children. We need your help to be there in their darkest hour.

Meet Mollie.

‘When I was younger, things weren’t easy. I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. My family went through tough times... and there were days when it felt like the world was a very lonely place. In my eyes, Christmas felt like a time when the world stopped. I didn’t have a lot of people I could turn too and I struggled a lot with my mental health. One in three children in our community is living in poverty, and my family felt the weight of that.

Then I found The Hive. A place where I wasn’t judged... a place where I was cared for. I wasn’t alone anymore. It made me value Christmas time and showed me the importance of spending it with people who mean a lot to you

The Hive was my sanctuary. It gave me hope when I had none left. It gave me the strength to believe in myself.

Thanks to the Hive, I found a future I never thought was possible. I learned to trust again. To believe in myself. And to hope for something better.'

- £10 could pay for a pair of Christmas pyjamas for one of our most vulnerable members

- £20 could cover the cost of a present for a young person they really want but their family can’t afford

- £31 could provide a hot meal for a child every day throughout December

- £100 could cover the cost of us giving a child a Year to Remember going into 2025. This covers the cost of an annual membership (£5), every session they attend throughout the year (50p) and a hot meal every single time they visit us
