"B"elieving for Bailey
Donation protected
On November 21st, 2014 Bailey was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). At this time she was living in Maryland with her parents. Upon her diagnosis the doctors told her parents that there were no treatments or cures for this horrible disease and the best thing to do was to return to Indiana to be with friends and family. Bailey's father resigned from his job that day and they packed their car with as much as they could and drive through the night back to Indiana. While they were back, they received a call from a woman who's grandson was recently diagnosed with the same rare disease. She told them about a clinical trial being done in Milan, Italy that has been shown to stop the progression of this disease. Bailey was recently accepted into the program and will be leaving this week to undergo 2 weeks of extensive testing to see if she qualifies for this life saving treatment. If she is accepted they will be in Italy for a minimum of 4 months to undergo treatment. During this time they will still have normal everyday bills to take care of at home and with neither mom nor dad being able to work, any little bit would be a huge help. Along with any donation, we would like to ask for your prayers that she is able to have this treatment. Thank you so much.
