Bell Griffin's 2022 Football Fundraiser

Dear CHEC Community Supporters,

At Columbia Heights Education Campus, we take pride in knowing that there is an opportunity for every one of our students to be involved inside and outside of the classroom. CHEC is a Title 1 DCPS school located in Ward 1. We serve students from all over the district and 90% of our students are considered “at risk”. Subsequently, we have created a thriving, motivating and purposeful place built on an ethos, which draws significantly on the enduring values of academic rigor, relevant curriculum, and social justice.

In November 2021 our varsity football team won the 8th Annual DCIAA Gravy Bowl. Additionally, we were the Runner Up in the Class A DC State Championship game. We finished the season with a record of 10-2 and a team GPA of 3.0. Our student-athletes worked against all odds and overcame numerous personal challenges. Celebrating these accomplishments looks very differently during these times. The pandemic will not allow us to gather for a dinner or an awards banquet. Because of that, we would like to commemorate our team accomplishments by providing each team member with a letterman jacket and ring. To make this happen, we are asking for donations to offset the cost.
