BELLA’S STORY•

Not really sure where to begin, but I’m gonna try.

My sweet baby girl has been unwell for the past few weeks and we finally got her some answers, though I’m not sure we were quite ready to hear them.

We just moved to Fort Benning this week and Bella’s condition started to worsen. Joseph took Bella to the ER in Columbus and about 1.5 later I’m being told to rush to the ER to follow Bella in an ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.

She was admitted into the ER immediately, further tests ran and rushed to PICU where we stayed for two days. She has received transfusions for multiple days in preparation for the upcoming day.

After about 10-15 doctors and I’m not even sure how many others, my sweet baby has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Her spleen and liver are super inflamed with the cancer cells attacking them. My heart hurts, it aches, I’m devastated. I just want to wake up from this horrible dream.

Right now Bella is undergoing surgery as we speak. The doctor just called and said her pic line was surgically implanted successfully. Now the next surgeons are at work taking a bone marrow biopsy and going into her spine shooting chemo in there and taking a biopsy to see if it has traveled to her brain. She has signs and symptoms it has but we are praying that God doesn’t allow it.

I’m a wreck, a mess, but I know that God has a plan and I trust in him. I’m hurt, I can’t understand WHY my baby girl has to go through this. Just why. But I trust in him he knows best and will protect and heal my baby girl in Jesus’ name.

The future: We will be here for a bit, undergoing intensive chemotherapy to try and destroy as many cancer cells in her body as possible. Depending on the brain results we may be here longer. From here, she will undergo 6 months have intensive chemotherapy and if all goes well, in a perfect world, she will have an additional 2 years of chemotherapy.

There is a long journey ahead of us, but we trust that God has her and our bests interests at hand. We are faithful to you O’ Lord. Please watch over and take care of my baby girl. For her momma loves her so so very much.

For those who have reached out to send her gifts, cards, love and prayers.

We are located at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. She is on the children’s oncology/cancer floor in room # 3231.

The doctors said she cannot be around any real flowers because of risks of infection but anything else is ok. Prayers are needed if y’all don’t mind me asking. Thanks for all those that have been praying for her, we feel your prayers, your love. And forever greatful I am as her mother for loving my sweet baby girl.
