Bellamy's SugarBear Fund

UPDATE!

Thank you EVERYONE from the bottom of our hearts for your donation towards set-up costs for Bellamy’s DexCom system! This has been an AMAZING system for us since we were able to purchase it!

I’ve decided to update the goal for the extra out of pocket monthly costs of the DexCom G6 sensor, and additional items not covered for Type 1 Diabetes. Every contribution helps take the burden off the day to day management of T1D.

Hey Everyone!

My name is Bellamy and I am 5! I live with my mom and my dad and my 2 big brothers! I love to play Minecraft and really any video game! Thank you for Checking out my GO-Fund me story! I was recently diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes! What is T1D? It's when my pancreas doesn't produce insulin! Insulin is a hormone that helps blood sugar enter the cells in my body which would give me energy and make me go super fast! Unfortunately, my body doesn't do that so my sugar sits in my blood stream and doesn't make me feel good. My mom and dad were really sad when the doctor said I was sick. That day wasn't really good because now I have to get a lot of pokes every day. I get 5 pokes a day which tells me how sweet I am! But sometimes I'm TOO sweet and need at least 4 additional bigger pokes...EVERYDAY! The pokes hurt and sometimes make me cry. Sometimes my mom and dad cry too but they always take care of me because they are the best! It's been a really rough time but I'm sure things will get easier, at least I hope so. My mom and dad talked about a monitor that will help me have 5 LESS POKES A DAY but it's super expensive! It's like $395 million dollars a month! ($395/per month) and there is extra things that they have to buy for the monitor every month! The pokes cost money too which isn't very nice but they make me feel better. I also have to eat special food too so my body doesn't get angry. My parents used to take care of us while taking pictures of people but they couldn't do that anymore because of COVID for a really long time. They are trying again but it's really hard. They are amazing and do everything to help us. They are an amazing Mum and Dad! Thanks for listening to my story <3!

Hey everyone, my name is Brittany and I have two VERY good friends who are in need of some assistance at this time. Two self employed individuals with 3 boys each with their own health condition! Hope you can understand that these times have not been easy and can help a family who could really use it at this time! Thank you in advance for all your help and love!

**UPDATE! (Learning as we go ) we must increase our goal as there are MORE costs that we have learned about. A transmitter replacement  must be purchase every 3 months which is $280! Plus an additional medication which is not covered for emergencies. Costs per month out of pocket are now $395 per month!
