Bellevue Nebraska Family Displaced....

Local family displaced because of driver “under the influence” runs into their residential home

In 2018 the Martin family bought their first home in Bellevue Nebraska. The family of 4 was ecstatic to be no longer burdened by apartment living with their growing family.

Since purchasing their home they have had their challenges of traffic damages to their property.

In 2019 a non-insured driver under the influence totaled Bill’s vehicle that was parked in their driveway. This left the working family with only 1 car and it is still that way today.

On December 9, 2022, a driver under the influence caught the attention of Bellevue Police officers. The excursion came to an end when the driver lost control of the vehicle, rolling over at least 10 times, knocking down power poles, and fences, and finally coming to a stop crashing into Martin’s home. The driver was checked for injuries and was arrested on the scene. However, Martin's home was not without extensive damage.

Again the Martin family has found themselves under another financial burden because this driver was also not insured.

The family of 4 and 2 husky dog family members and a hamster had to immediately seek family help for a temporary place to stay.

The Martin family home was built in 1969, although when purchased in 2017 everything was up to code. Now that codes have been upgraded the family cannot return to their home until the electrical is brought up to today's standards. The family is in desperate need to come up with the funds for the electrical before their homeowner's insurance will begin repairs for the family to eventually return.

The Martin family consists of spouses Beth and Bill Martin, Children Skylar 13, and Chrissy 6.
