Beloved Steve memorial and funeral fund raiser

Steve was a kind and loving man, adored by so many who sadly lost his life much sooner than expected.

His wife Amanda, grown up children and sister are all left devastated and while trying to cope with the shock now also have the added stress and financial worry of planning and paying for a funeral in order to give Steve the best send off he deserves.

This comes as a massive shock to all the family because even though we found out his illness was terminal both Steve, our family and all the doctors thought he would of had alot more time and nobody expected this to take over as quick as it did. He now leaves behind his young grandchildren and a family that can't imagine life without him.

Most people locally to where he lived and them he was proud to serve along with in the forces will know that Steve was kind, generous, caring, loving and a gentleman and in his own words firm but fair. Steve served from 4th February 1980 were he retired 23 years later on the 27th January 2003.

Steve loved his running and football and shared these hobbies with those he was closest to. He always made sure them around him were still trying to smile and that they were okay. He was the strongest most positive person I'll ever know and put other first, even close to the end he asked if the nurses and doctors were okay.

Steve was sadly told back in October 26th 2021 that he had cancer at the base of his tongue. But even though this tragic news Steve always kept positive probably more then most that the treatment would be successful. On the October 12th 2022 me and our family were overjoyed that he was cleared of this aggressive disease, but celebrations were placed on hold as his health never semt to pick up and got worse to the point of being told in December 7th 2022 that this had come back and this time it wasnt curable.

We know so many people have been in touch to offer their help and support and whilst we appreciate and understand the cost of living is hard on everyone at the moment we have decided to set up this page so any amount donated would help Amanda and the family massively.
