Beloved colleague.

These are just a few ways to describe Bob Redman. A 28-year veteran teacher and coach for the Eastmont School District, he is known and loved by many. On February 17th, 2024, Bob and his wife Dawn were out for a Saturday drive when Bob began having burning pains in his chest. Dawn took over as the driver as well as stopping to get him some baby aspirin, which helped. Feeling better, the couple went home only to later decide that getting checked out by a medical professional would help them rest easy. Unbeknownst to them, Bob was in the boundaries of cardiac arrest when he arrived at the clinic. He was rushed to Central Washington Hospital by ambulance where it was determined that he was in fact having a heart attack. He was stabilized and slotted for surgery the next morning during which it was discovered that Bob had three blocked arteries. A vein was grafted from his arm to use in his heart, restoring healthy blood flow and saving his life. After three days in the ICU, he was moved to a general hospital room, and later released a few days later. He is scheduled for follow-up appointments with his Cardiologist and a physical therapy regime to restore his mobility and strength. Bob’s recovery will be long and require much support, emotional, physical, and financial.

The Redman family live a modest lifestyle. Dawn works as a paraprofessional at a local Christian school and Bob’s work provides a teacher salary and coach stipends. An active, healthy couple and the parents of two young adult children, the couple elected a high-deductible insurance plan, which will need to be satisfied before any coverage begins. Medical bills are sure to be extensive. Bob will not return to work this school year, which means a loss in coaching stipends. While on leave Bob will be forced to use all of his sick time to assure a paycheck.

The Redman family extends their appreciation for the heartfelt support and prayers these past days and in the coming months. They are grateful for any financial support you can give.
