Ben Gillard

Hi my name is Lucy Noonan and I am coming to you with the loss of a Newfoundland treasure, my brother-in-law Ben Gillard who devoted his entire adult life to paint the greatest depiction of our beautiful island. Ben was born and raised in Englee, Newfoundland and resided in St. John's. He was an accomplished artist, musician, poet, writer, and singer.

Through his life has been an inspiration to others, and taught his beautiful craft to art students. He was also involved with the Newfoundland Folk Arts Council and was affiliated with AANL, CARNAL, and CARFAC and won awards from the Art Council of Canada. His work spans the globe.

We are looking to help Support the Gillard Family and provide Ben with the funeral and burial he so deserves. This man gave so much to the province of Newfoundland, the place he loved and represented well through his work.

Funeral costs, as you are aware, can be very costly and thus we are seeking your help in raising a goal of $15, 000. This covers the expenses of the funeral home, transportation, funeral service and burial. If we attain our goal, the remainder of the funds raised will go towards Ben's headstone.
