Ben needs a kidney
Donation protected
Ben has Alport’s syndrome which often causes progressive kidney damage. Ben’s kidney function has declined to the point that a transplant is necessary. In order to be added to the transplant list, an emergency fund was required to ensure that Ben can afford medications and all other costs related to the transplant. At this point in the process, the biggest financial hurdle is fundraising to help pay for potential donor’s travel expenses as most of our applicants are out of state. Our transplant center is insisting that testing is done in-house, here in Denver. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover travel expenses for testing. They will cover most travel expenses for transplant once a donor is identified but even that has a cap. As the sole provider of a family of six, it can be difficult to put money away for a rainy day and still pay all of the bills. All proceeds will be used strictly for medical related expenses, travel for potential donors and to make up for necessary time off from work for treatment. Thank you in advance for your donation!
