Support Ben Torres’ Recovery from Vocal Surgery

Donation protected

Whether you know Ben as a friend, your former teacher or as a performer - to know him is to love him.

Some of us know him as the man in the hat, the guy with the voice. A voice that has brought renditions of Lizzo’s "Truth Hurts", and has invited crowds to sing the "BA BA BA!" of Sweet Caroline 47,000 times. To some of you, he’s your favorite Math teacher from middle school. Some of you are now friends after a night in the piano bar on the Norwegian Cruise Line. Some of you have shared time with him on the golf course. Others have shared the stage with him in one of the many dueling piano clubs he’s played at around the country. He's welcomed you into Savannah Smiles for the last eight years, he's serenaded your first dance at your wedding. He's made your whole family blush when belting out WAP. He's taken your requests, he's invited you to play alongside him. He's helped you celebrate your birthday, your engagement, your divorce, your promotion, your first trip to Savannah.

And for those of us lucky to know him personally, he is the ROCK we've all leaned on. He picks up the phone every time you call. He remembers your birthday, he asks about your mom. He has picked up your tab, he's hugged you like he meant it, he's celebrated your wins like they were his own. He's pitched in to your fundraiser. He's helped you move, supported your aspirations, he's cried with you and has made you laugh until your sides ached.

You've caught his infectious smile, you've sung along with him, you've shared a drink with him.

And now HE needs US.

After decades of entertaining crowds with his music, Ben needs to undergo surgery to repair his vocal cords.

Ben is selfless, and always gives without hoping to receive in return. We created this page without Ben knowing so we could rally around him to show him he is LOVED, he is CHERISHED and he is SUPPORTED.
Ben's recovery after surgery will keep him out of work for several weeks while he completes physical therapy and heals. Let's help ease his stress so he can take the time he needs to recuperate fully and be back - sharing his music with us - better than ever.
