Behind the Mic and On The Set - "New York Black Radio The Untold Story" is  a groundbreaking documentary written, directed  and produced by filmaker Michael Baril . This novel documentary is a comprehensive appraisal of African American radio history from 1940s to present day.  From its inception, this historical endeavor sought to preserve, acknowledge, and protect the legacy of African American contributions to the radio broadcasting industry of New York City. No stone was left unturned as Behind the Mic explores the historical perspectives of  AM radio  announcers ,   FM  radio personalities, program directors,  mix masters   and recording artists; all of whom played a significant role in shaping and nurturing the evolution of New York radio; The  documentary  highlights  the  untold stories  of Black  radio legends rise to  success  in  the number one  city in the  world and the obstacles  they faced from noted  radio  giants as  Hal Jackson , Frankie Crocker,  Percy Sutton,  Mr. Magic ,Ken “Spider” Webb,  Vaughn Harper, Wendy Williams  Chuck Chillout and Kool DJ  Red Alert to name a few.  BEHIND THE MIC  TRAILERYour contribution to this film will not only provide a solid foundation for the launch of the film but will also help us  pay  for  editing cost  and  licensing of  archival  footage and music.  Any size contribution is welcome and will be greatly appreciated.  Our goal is $25,000!
