Benefit for Becky & Kenny

Donation protected
Becky Kilgore & Kenny Hollar have been sharing their lives together for 23 years.  They are selfless people who never ask for help, but are always the first to help other people.

After multiple tests, in July 2016, Kenny was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and has been undergoing chemotherapy.  Multiple Myeloma is a cancer formed by malignant plasma cells. Normal plasma cells are found in the bone marrow and are an important part of the immune system.  In March 2017, he was admitted to The James at OSU Medical Center for a bone marrow stem cell transplant. As one can imagine, this illness has been a hardship financially, emotionally, and physically.  Anyone who knows Kenny, knows he would do anything for anyone. He served on the Bellville/Jefferson Twp. Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years.  He gives back any chance he gets and has donated to numerous charities.

While trying to take care of Kenny, Becky became ill herself.  In December 2016, the day after Christmas, Becky was admitted to OSU Medical Center.  Becky spent 17 days in the ICU and was at OSU for about a month including rehab. Eight of those days were spent on a vent as she was in respiratory distress, and her kidneys were not functioning. It was determined that she has a rare autoimmune disorder, Granulomatosis with Polyangitis (Wegener's).  It causes inflammation of blood vessels, causing organ damage.  It often times affects either the kidneys or the lungs, but in Becky's case, it affected both.  It was determined she was in renal failure due to the damaged caused. Now, Becky undergoes hemodialysis 3 times a week, receives a home health aide to assist her in bathing 3 times a week, and has to have weekly blood work as the disorder causes her Hemoglobin levels to drop.  This Autoimmune Disorder has currently made it impossible for Becky to return to her career as an LPN, which she has been so passionate about for over 30 years.

Both Kenny & Becky's diagnoses also compromise their immune systems and make them weaker than normal, making it difficult for them to continue to serve others as they once did.  It is time for us to help them, do our part in giving back!
