Benefit for Dylyn

Dylyn, our dear friend and coworker, has been a technician at Kirkwood Animal Hospital since 2009. She is selfless, compassionate, funny, and is dedicated to her work, friends and family. Dylyn has been a true inspiration as she was recently diagnosed in 2021 with cancer at only 29 years old. Initially, the cancer hit her aggressively and the doctors were stumped by her diagnosis and only gave her a few months. But Dylyn’s determination to find a diagnosis and inability to give up, led her to discover that she had extremely rare high grade sarcoma. After rounds of chemotherapy, trial medications and surgery to remove organs, Dylyn fought the cancer in remission and returned to work and her new “normal” life. Even on the days when pain keeps her housebound and relegated to her bed, she has a smile for everyone who loves her.

Dylyn has endured many hardships alongside of the cancer diagnosis: loss of income during medical treatment, her day-to-day pain management, dietary changes, and cost of pain relief medications.

In May 2023, Dylyn unfortunately received the news that her cancer has come back and progressed fairly quickly. Despite the hurdles, she continues to show up to work with a smile on her face. She desperately needs financial support for her medical bills and treatments.
