Benefit for Hahn Family

My dad Randy Hahn passed away in September and we are looking for some help with the payments for his cremation so we can bring him up to Oregon with us. I was hesitant on asking for help at first but flying down to CA recently and taking care of all of his belongings has cost us more than expected. The $1,500 will all go to what we owe for his cremation and urn along with getting it shipped up here to be with us.

My dad bought me my first guitar. I think he thought it was just a phase and that I would eventually grow out of it and start building hot rods or racing boats. Haha, but he soon saw that my passions were different than his and supported my endeavors. Even if he didn’t understand my mohawk he would find a way to try and complement it like.. "it’s probably really arrow dynamic man!".
All his neighbors and care takers always told me how he would show them my cds and bands I was working with and talk their ears off about places I was playing and traveling to next. I know he was a proud dad.
One time when I was about 6 he was teaching me to fish and I kept accidentally throwing my Mickey Mouse fishing pole into the lake every time I cast out. He thought it was the funniest thing in the world. And it probably was. Haha, I still can’t fish, that ones on me. He would joke to this day about it and ask if I was ever going to dive into Menifee lakes to get my fishing pole back. "Gatta finish what you started!"
My dad often told stories about his days drag racing and hanging with John Force, opening bars and booking huge bands in Huntington Beach, mining out in Death Valley fighting off black widows, mountain lions and rattlesnakes where one of his random sayings "Those fuckin’ side winders will getcha buddy!" came from. Haha. My favorite catch phrase of his was "He’d be dead as a fish on a hook!". I still never knew where that one came from..
He taught me to learn from your mistakes instead of dwell on them and that making a ton of money doesn’t matter when all is said and done. Just be happy. And he was Happy, I can tell you that! He wasn’t the life of the party he WAS the party. He could cheer anybody up at any time. He was the funniest person I’ve ever met honestly. His favorite comedians were George Carlin, Richard Prior and Rodney Dangerfield. He was a big fan of intellect.
When my parents split and I stayed with him he would make me waffles with whip cream on top every night and we would read Rodney Dangerfield one liners until we passed out. Although at the time it seemed tough, those were some of the best times of my life.
The last year especially his health got substantially worse and I started to realize that possibly he wasn’t going to get much better. He fought so hard to rehabilitate but ultimately his body couldn’t take it anymore. I know he loved us so much and being a grandfather to Morrison gave him motivation to make it as long as he did. We call him Grandy because its a fun play on words but in actuality being a loving grandfather defined him as a person.
As I was writing this out in my studio, the lights turned on and off again without being plugged in. I’m going to take that as a hello and that everything is fine. Love you all, have a shot for my pops.
