Benefit for Lisa Fioretti

This benefit is in support of our dear friend, Lisa Fioretti, who was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Lisa is the daughter and granddaughter of breast cancer survivors and mother to two amazing children, Gianni and Melina. She is an angel who has touched the lives of many, through efforts including: 

- guiding children ages 11/2­ – 3 years at the Montessori Lab School for the last 6 years 

- creating beautiful photos as a professional photographer for the last 15 years 

- taught hearing-impaired children at the Central Institute for the Deaf and the Moog Center for 10 years 

- created and taught a toddler program at St. Michael School of Clayton for 10 years 

- worked with physically handicapped children as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for 2 years 

- created Untangled, a group aimed at the empowerment of separating and divorcing women 

On top of the stress of a cancer diagnosis, this unfortunately happened during a time when Lisa was not covered by health insurance. She is on her own financially, and the cost is exorbitant. For example, the price of one round of genomic oncology testing is $4,600. These bills are just one part of a difficult road ahead for Lisa.
