Land Team's Rose Sharp - Lost Everything to Fire
Donation protected
Who is she, and what happened? Rose Sharp is part of the Hess Land team. She was awakened to the commotion of the unimaginable panic of smoke and flames on Thursday morning at about 3 AM. Due to the heavy thunderstorm activity, there was an electrical fire - it seems her unit was hit by lightning. She lost her town home and everything in it. She and her daughter barely made it out alive. This is still sinking in, but thankfully she is staying with family for the time being. Hess is engaged in assisting in her time of need, and the Midstream and Land teams are stepping in to do what we can for one of our own. If you are able to make a donation of any kind ($1, cost of a Starbucks or a lunch, whatever works), it would be greatly appreciated. As if 2020 were not bad enough with a pandemic, think of...in an instant, not having your safe place to call home.
Some thoughts I'd like to share...I thought of this as I went to sleep last night, in my own bed, with my cozy sheets and my furbabies. With the A/C set to a comfortable place. With food in the fridge, and all the things I needed in the bathroom to get ready in the morning, and clothes in my closet to wear. I thought about how it would feel to wake up and have none of that. Not a change of clothes to grab and change into. I thought of feeling inconvenienced by the smallest things, like having my kitchen sink repaired recently and not having running water there for a short time. Then I thought about the people that are less fortunate than most of us, and cannot afford basic necessities. I would NOT want to have to start over, but if I did, I would be comforted to know that the people I spend the majority of my workweek with cared enough to help in some small way. If you read this and are not able to contribute financially, that is completely ok. Please say a prayer for Rose and offer some kind words if/when you talk to her. Emotional support is very important as well! Keep in mind this must be challenging for her to process, so if she doesn't say much or reply, maybe she is dealing with this in her own way, but I'm sure your kind words will still be heard and appreciated during this time.
