Support Underserved Populations via ProGen Benin
Donation protected
As some of you know, Annie and I recently had the amazing opportunity to travel to Benin, West Africa as part of the US State Department's Sports Diplomacy Program.
As judo sports envoys, we led a 4-day judo camp for women from all around Benin. In addition to judo training, the women also participated in programs regarding gender-based violence and reproductive health.
During our time there, we had 2 wonderful translators who did real-time translations of our English instruction into French for the participants.
One of these translators was Ghislaine Akakpo who owns a Beninese non-profit called ProGen Benin.
You can find out more about her non-profit here: https://progenbenin.org/en/
ProGen Benin is a development and advocacy organization, working in the fields of education, health, and human rights.
Their target groups are the most vulnerable and underserved populations in Benin, predominantly children, women, and community-based groups working with them.
After hearing about the wonderful work that Ghislaine was doing in Benin, I wanted to organize a fundraiser for her organization.
Just $6 provides girls with a reusable sanitary pad that they can use for up to 2 years.
Many girls in Benin have to miss school while menstruating due to the lack of feminine hygiene products.
Not only this, but $1 can feed a child a whole day at school!
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and I will personally make sure that all funds reach Ghislane and ProGen Benin.
Thank you in advance for your support and consideration.
