Benjamin Haecker Troop 157 Eagle Project for the RRASC

Donation protected
My name is Benjamin Haecker, and I have been in Scouting since elementary school, starting as a Cub Scout. My Scouting journey is almost complete, as I'm working towards my rank of Eagle as part of Troop 157 out of Round Rock, TX. One of my last actions to get my Eagle rank is to complete a service project of my choosing that benefits my community.

I have been working with the Round Rock Area Serving Center (RRASC) in Round Rock, Texas, for my project. I will be refreshing the RRASC community garden entrance flowerbed, which includes replacing the flowerbed border, rebuilding the sign and getting a new sign insert printed (Parts 1A & 1B below). The larger part of my project will be to install a 350 sq. ft. stone paver path that replaces and extends the existing dirt/mulch path to and around the greenhouse to the composting beds (Parts 2A-2C). This will make the wagon/wheelbarrow/grocery cart trek to the composting beds much easier and improve operations for the gardens which are critical to the RRASC community food pantry.

I'm estimating the cost for the project to be about $3,450, with most of the expenses going toward the stone paver path. I hope to complete my project by the second weekend in May with assistance from fellow Scouts, friends and family, but I must raise these funds quickly to be successful! Any leftover funds will be used to purchase a couple of Gorilla wagons for the gardens and/or donated directly to RRASC.

I really hope you'll partner with me through a donation to this GoFundMe so I can complete this project, finish my Eagle Rank, and support the Round Rock Area Serving Center that helps provide for the Round Rock community and its families in need!

The Round Rock Area Serving Center was established in 1987 and is a Family and Community care organization that provides food, clothes, and vital services to families in the Round Rock and Williamson County area. It currently has an outdoor Garden that provides fresh produce for the RRASC food pantry. RRASC distributed 1.7 million pounds of food to individuals and families in need in 2023.
