Hello, my name is Orrianna and I am fundraising on behalf of my family.

On the 22nd June 2024, we tragically lost our family member Ben, aged 24. This harrowing day was not only the most heartbreaking thing we have ever experienced as a family but it was his daughter’s 1st birthday. A day that was meant to be a celebration swiftly turned into a nightmare none of us could ever imagine.

Ben was a fiancé to my cousin Amy, and doting dad to baby Bella-Rose. After working a long night shift, Ben was travelling home from work when he collided into the back of a lorry on a motorway. The lorry was at a standstill due to a previous collision. Ben was unable to be removed from his work van and was spoken to by police.

An officer held Bens hand asking his name. He was able to communicate with them. Bens last words on this earth were “I need to get home for my baby daughter’s birthday. It’s her first birthday today” He then closed his eyes and passed away. Bella-Rose has lost her dad at the age of 1 and Amy has lost her partner at the age of 23. Life is not meant to be this short and unfair and we are all heartbroken.

Amy and Ben have been in love since teenagers and truly believed they were going to spend the rest of their days together. Their love was undeniable, always hand in hand to take on the world together. Aged 24, Ben was just starting his life, building a safe home for the two most important people in his life, working long hours and always striving to provide.

Our family are now supporting my cousin, who is only 23, to make the hardest decisions of her life. She is trying to navigate now being a single mum, grief and paying for a funeral. We are asking for donations to help pay for Bens funeral and wake. We want to give Ben the most beautiful send off as this is the least he deserves! Anyone who knew Ben knew he always gave the world to everyone and now it’s our turn. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
