I’m really not even sure what to say here. Words are hard at the moment. On 3/26 I went to the hospital due to decreased fetal movement at my 37 week NST appointment. They did two ultrasounds, and they found no heartbeat. Baby Benji was born a bit over 24 hours later, on 3/27/24 at 4:39 pm, when I was about 37.5 weeks pregnant. He was absolutely perfect, 7 pounds 15 ounces. Just like his big brother Alex, he had the chubbiest chipmunk cheeks and cutest little nose. They said we may never know what happened, and our hospital stopped doing autopsies on newborns a few years ago. We were one of the lucky families, and we knew immediately when he was born what happened. He had two very tight knots in his cord. They didn’t think he had been gone long. The head of the nursing department went to the pathologist also, and they could confirm that he didn’t suffer, it was quick.
Its been a rough time for us, with the pregnancy being high risk with complications, I was out of work earlier than expected. We don’t really have much family to help out. We hate asking for help, but unfortunately this is a time we genuinely need it and would appreciate anything at all. We aren’t doing a service, we’re just trying to figure out getting the cremation paid for.
Thank you,
Christopher, Ella, and Alexander
