Benny Gasmen Memorial & Funeral Fund
Donation protected
Our loved one, Benny Gasmen, AGE 48, passed away on the evening of December 19th.
Sadly, Benny’s body succumbed to a decade-long battle with diabetes, leading to congestive heart failure and insurmountable complications.
Benny lived a full life, constantly entertaining everyone around him with his antics and stories. He was an accomplished artist and a talented jack-of-all-trades who pursued his vocations and avocations with a perfectionist’s eye, mastering them to his satisfaction, and moving on quickly to his next interest.
Benny pursued drawing in art school, dabbled in graffiti and parlayed those skills as a tattoo artist later in life. At his peak physical health, Benny trained as a boxer and martial artist. In his service jobs, Benny taught us about the finer points of liquor and wine, while tending bar at Landlord Jim’s, Hotel Del Coronado and the Grand Cafe at Hotel Monaco in San Francisco. He often entertained himself by teaching himself to play the guitar and congas. Benny’s love for Staffordshire Bull Terriers and community propelled his travels around the world on the dog show circuit.
Benny was disabled for over a decade and did not have life insurance, so donations will go towards funding his funeral costs and for friends and family to celebrate and remember Benny’s generous spirit and passion for life.
The Memorial and Funeral will take place on Saturday, January 5th at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Chapel of Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. Viewing begins at 9:00am; Memorial at approximately 10:00am; and Burial/Interment between 11:00am-11:30am.
