Benny’s Emergency Trip to the Vet & Surgery
Donation protected
On Tuesday, February 21st, Benny vomited up what looked to be grass. Benny, like many dogs, has eaten grass before and spit up a little green. It kept happening. After an emergency vet visit on Thursday, we discovered Benny has a foreign object in his intestine causing a huge gas build up. During the exam, the vet also informed us she heard a heart murmur. They recommended surgery, but did not have availability to perform the surgery that night.
We are returning to the vet for a follow up and hopefully surgery on Friday, February 24. The cost of surgery is high, and given that this was such an unexpected cost, I am asking for any donations to help with the cost if you are able to do so.
If you know Benny, you know how sweet and calm he is. He loves people, and would rather sit by the benches with the humans than play with other dogs at the dog park. He has human eyes and will stare into your soul/beat anyone in a staring contest. He is literally so quiet you won’t know he’s next to you. He loves belly rubs and scratches on the top of his head. He spends 24/7 with his older (but smaller) brother, Shia, and tolerates him at his grumpy old age.
Benny has been in my life for almost 5 years. I rescued him in 2018 on my lunch break visit to the animal shelter. We didn’t know how old he was because the first vet said 1 year old, the next said 3-5. Today, Benny is 8 years old (approx.) and has lots of life left in him ❤️ Thank you in advance if you’re able to support, and I hope one day you’re able to see/meet Benny & give him all the love.
