Ben's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On Thursday June 4th Ben was Pre-Riding the Black Fly Challenge course near Inlet, NY.  Upon the final descent to Limekiln Lake Road Ben lost control after hitting a rock in the road.  He ended up in a ravine and and upon my arrival to him, he was conscious but incoherent.  He was airlifted to Upstate Medical in Syracuse, NY.  He had surgery to replace a crushed T8 vertebrate.  He sustained other injuries as well.  Ben was told by doctors that 80% of the people with this injury never walk again. However, he walked with assistance down the hallway of the hospital.  As great as that news is, Ben will have a long and lengthy rehab process.  Ben's passion other than cycling is photography. He was recently laid off, however started to freelance and was heading in the right direction to replenish his lost income.  Being self employed myself I couldn't imagine the cost to be incurred with so much medical and rehab services.  Any assistance that you may be able to give would be greatly appreciated.
