Ben's battle : pancreatic cancer

Donation protected
In fall 2013, Ben began having some issues that sent him to go to the doctor.  After months of being passed from doctor to doctor in an attempt to find the cause, he was ultimately diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  He was only 36 years old at the time and handed a grim prognosis with only 6-9 months to live, if he did chemo.  This rocked the family hard, but did not shake their faith.  This family has a love for our Lord and Savior and knows that only He knows how long Ben will be here.
Ben has been fighting this horrible disease for almost 4 years.  He has done chemo, radiation, and some exploratory trial treatments.  Throughout all this, the man has continued to work 40-50 hours a week to support his family and rising medical bills without fail.  His doctors did not know how this was possible.  He would work 10 hours Monday-Thursday, squeeze in 5 before chemo Friday, and begin again the following week.  Ben has always given all glory to God and credits him with every second he has been able to work and thrive.  This has gone on for almost 4 years, but sadly Ben is unable to work any longer.  The treatments were not successful, as is the case with pancreatic cancer.  There is no medical cure.  He has taken a leave from work and his wife Erica has taken unpaid leave as well to care for him.
Ben has been beating the odds, surprising the doctors and everyone he meets with his grit, determination, and unwavering faith.  Through it all, his wife and children have remained his rock, steadily by his side.  Ben and Erica are high school sweethearts with the kind of love story most only dream about.  They genuinely love and enjoy each other as much today as 25 years ago.  They have 2 amazing children.  Benjamin is 19 and attends college at Grand Canyon University and Lauryn is 11 and just began middle school.  They are members of Hill Country Bible Church in Leander.
This family is not the kind to ever ask for help and always the first to step up with anyone needs help.  They do not ask for donations, but are the first to give.  It is my hope that your support will help take some of the stress off this family and allow them to shift the focus where it needs to be.  If you are unable to give monetarily, please consider adding the family to your prayers, and sharing the story.  It is my hope that we can help find a cure for this horrible disease.
