Ben's transition and survival fund
Donation protected
"The NHS Gender Identity service is suffering country-wide, with waits as long as 68 months until a first appointment in some parts of the country. My son, Ben, is a transgender man, who has been on the waiting list for almost 4 years, with no word about a first appointment yet.
We have an amazing GP, who has offered to help with prescriptions under a shared care programme. However, he isn't able to prescribe Ben the medication that he so desperately needs without the go-ahead of a Gender Therapist. Such a vital step in my son's comfort is just out of reach.
That's why I've set up this GoFundMe. I want to get Ben to see a private clinic, so that he can get the other half of the shared care plan signed off, and can finally get the ball rolling on his medical transition. It kills me to see him struggle on a day-to-day basis without being able to do anything to help him."
My son has also stated many times and as recently as Monday past that he is so unhappy he would rather be unalive. As a parent you can only imagine how that makes me feel which is why I needed to set this up. I can't lose my son please help us on this journey of a lifetime.
Many thanks.
