Ben's Urgent Plea for Help: A Bernedoodle's Road to Recovery

Our beloved Ben, the Bernedoodle with the expressive eyebrows and an even more expressive tail, recently experienced a harrowing accident. While he's still wagging his tail a little bit slower, he's now facing a mountain of vet bills that even his most charming puppy-dog eyes can't cover.

On Tuesday, February 25th, Ben was eagerly anticipating his daily adventure into Winnick Woods with his furry friends. However, tragedy struck as an inconsiderate driver hit Ben with their car and heartlessly sped away, leaving him injured.

Ben was immediately rushed to the Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) in Scarborough, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After a thorough examination, the veterinary team determined that Ben required several days in the ICU, emergency surgery, a course of pain medication, and extensive rehabilitation to get him back to his playful self.

Ben's usual tactic of begging for treats, unfortunately, won't be enough to cover the extensive costs associated with his recovery. Between bruised lungs, a broken leg, facial trauma, and throat surgery, Ben is going through too much for a six year old baby. The expenses include: Emergency Surgery: The surgery itself, along with the associated costs (detailed in four pages of itemized expenses), Medication: To manage Ben's pain and discomfort during his recovery, Ongoing Care: Follow-up appointments, potential complications, supportive measures, and additional medications.
