Ben's Volunteering Expedition in Tanzania - 2025

Hi, my name is Ben and I am 14 years old. In 2025 I am going on a 4 week trip to Tanzania to live and work in rural communities, helping on a variety of educational, conservation and sustainability projects. The trip involves helping build schools, protect wildlife, improving access to drinkable water and perhaps even making paper from elephant poo!

This trip means a lot to me as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to live in Africa for 4 weeks and to make a difference in their local communities, having a lot of fun in the process. During the trip I will pick up many new skills including problem-solving skills, low-level construction work and hopefully some of the local language.

The cost of this trip is £4410, of which 38% goes to the local community. There will be some additional costs for kit, vaccinations, visa and souvenirs. Alongside my gofundme page I am planning to raise money through table-top sales, online selling, performing music in my local community and cake sales.
