Bentley's Fight for Life After Dog Attack

Hello everyone, Im Essence,the proud dog mom of Bentley Liam, my sweet pointer/lab baby. Bentley is literally the epitome of a timid, yet energetic,loving 10 year old boy. This past Saturday 4/19/25, Bentley was brutally attacked by a neighbors dog while on a walk with my children. The attack left him with two deep puncture wounds which required hospitalization and immediate surgery, which totaled in the unexpectant amount of $1400 in which we were unfortunately left to cover all cost. Upon being released the following day,he struggled through the entire night into the morning unable to sleep,refusing to eat/or drink due to the pain he was in. We noticed that his wound began to smell and his flesh began to darken so we took him back to the vet,only to learn that hed now had an infection,was dehydrated, and his kidneys had very high levels, which required a minimum of an additional 36hrs of hospitalization and another surgery which has now become a true matter of life or death. We were able to cover the deposit for immediate treatment and are now looking at an additional $6000 to cover his new treatment plan, otherwise wed be forced to make the decision of putting down what was just a completely healthy dog 2 days ago or bring him home to slowly die in the coming days which would completely crush my entire household. He is so loved and has saved me from many dark days with his loving presence and now its my turn save his. Any and all help is deeply appreciated.
