Benton Performance Fire
Donation protected
The first Porsche I owned was a 912. I bought it when I was 23, and it’s been a beautiful journey ever since. It led to the creation of Benton Performance in 1986, where I have dedicated my life to build, create and share our love of vintage Porsches.
On October 30th, a lifetime of work for the Benton Family went up in flames. A fire started at a neighboring facility, and it quickly spread to our building. Our warehouse and everything in it was destroyed.
$3 million in irreplaceable cars, matching number drivetrains, tools, and Porsche memorabilia is gone.
We are in shock and pain, as we watched a lifetime of our work burn to the ground.
It’s very hard for me to ask for help, because I’m not good at that. I’m better at giving it.
Many have asked how they could help support us during this difficult time. So, I am reluctantly asking you for help, because we humbly need it. Although we have insurance, we do not have enough coverage to get us through a rebuild.
I am hopeful that whatever people can give, it will not only help support the Benton Performance family, but the Porsche community as a whole, as we have done for over 30 years.
I am so thankful for friends, clients, and this Porsche community who have reached out with a message, call, or text. Your sentiment, thoughts, and words are helping us get through this tough time.
20 years from now, this place has to be here. There is no plan B. We are blessed and lucky to have these cars.
I promise, when we are back up and running, we will throw the biggest welcoming party.
I love you all.
With Gratitude,
John Benton
